Electrical Maintenance Technician (Mobile)

POSITION: Mobile Electrical Maintenance Technician
LOCATION: Based in Washington (NE37 3AG) but travelling between 8 sites in the area
RATE OF PAY: £10.25 - £12.25/hour - depending on experience
DURATION OF ASSIGNMENT: Temporary with a view to going permanent for the right candidate after a 3 month period
HOURS OF WORK: 37.5 hours per week. We ask candidates to be a little flexible with start and finish times due to business needs.
There is a requirement for on call. 1 week on 1 week off which would be Monday to Sunday 16:00 – 8:00am. £50 per week on-call bonus + overtime rates. Minimum 2 hours per call out paid.
Delivering to a competent standard a range of building fabric and ancillary services to the contract that shall include all essential routine and reactive requirements and a significant number of the additional and advanced reactive service requirements as detailed below...
Support the Facilities Management team in promoting a culture of excellent customer service
Establishing excellent working relationships with the client staff
Providing as required a high profile in the day-to-day running of the sites and the provision of a consistently strong link with customers
Guaranteeing appropriate and responsive reaction to address any and all client concerns.
Working between 8 stations/HQ's, Responding to helpdesk calls for reactive jobs across the buildings. Dealing with Site supervisors on the stations, Supporting them, carrying out maintenance work as and when needed.
The delivery of Low Level Statutory Compliance (LLC) services consisting of:
• L8 water temperature testing & recording
• Emergency light short duration test (where flick switches installed to the whole site) & recording
• Fire Bell Test & recording
• Flushing of little used outlets & recording
Preferably we are looking for a candidate with electrical qualifications and/or a maintenance technician with an electrical bias
Any further qualifications in relation to trades such as carpentry, plumbing etc. would be beneficial to this post
Carrying out essential routine responsibilities including but not limited to : Third Party Inductions & Supervision, Building Inspection, Grounds Maintenance, Cleaning etc.
There is a company van for business use only, Mobile phone and Laptop provided.
There is a need to deal with suppliers, calling out contractors as and when required as well as dealing with onsite Fire Brigade staff, keeping them updated on works.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a varied role and tasks are likely to change on a daily basis. The right candidate must be willing to turn their hand to tasks as they arise as well as carry out planned preventative maintenance.
It would be beneficial for the candidate to have electrical qualifications
Must have previous experience in a similar role, would be beneficial for the candidate to have worked in a commercial environment before
Be capable of performing a wide range of tradesman activities to a competent standard, as well as deliver a range of Low Level Compliance activities
Full British driving license is required as this role may include occasions where it is necessary to travel in between stations in the area.
Role to include some manual handling/heavy lifting
The right candidate will have good level of communication/customer service. Role is very client centred and the candidate will be the first point of call for clients, customers and visitors to report any issues with the building fabric.
Full site induction will be given upon start
