Specialist Skilled Workers Required

SkyBlue Solutions is currently looking to increase their knowledge of interested trades’ persons for forthcoming contracts in the South West. The following trades/skills are likely to be required:-
Steel Fixers – all levels from Nip Hand, Steel Fixers, and Section Foremen through to General Foreman. A solid understanding and all shape codes including shape code 99 and lenton couplers is paramount. Wire experience is also preferred. Read and interpret drawings and bending schedules. There will be a % of rebar cut and bent on site
Place rebar at the required centres as shown on the relevant drawing
Conversant in placing rebar to French design and standards
Experience rebar benders required familiar with European standards
Experience in prefabricating large sections of rebar and placing into the correct position safely
Qualification – NVQ level II, or working towards this qualification is desirable.
Plant Operatives – CPCS Qualified – all makes and models of machine – especially those with tickets for over 40t. Machinery includes 360 degree excavators, bulldozers and dumper trucks for moving earth; static tower cranes, mobile and rough terrain cranes for lifting and moving materials; and compactors such as rollers.
Qualification – NVQ level II, or working towards this qualification is desirable.
Formwork/Shuttering Carpenters – must have proven work history of fine tolerance work.
Qualifications – NVQ levels II & III desirable
Concrete finishers – Place concrete to the correct standards using rake, hand or power trowel, hand or power screed, or float. Mould expansion joints and edges, using edging tools, jointers, and straightedge. Cut out damaged areas, drill holes for reinforcing rods, and position reinforcing rods to repair concrete, using power saw and drill.
Wet concrete surface, and rub with stone to smooth surface and obtain specified finish.
Wet surface to prepare for bonding, fill holes and cracks with grout or slurry, and smooth, using trowel.
Clean chipped area, using wire brush, and feel and observe surface to determine if it is rough or uneven.
Qualification – NVQ level II, or working towards this qualification is desirable.
Previous experience of Nuclear Reactor Projects – specifically at Flamanville 3 in France or Olkiluoto 3 in Finland, would be a distinct advantage.
Applicants will have to undergo UK security vetting, and therefore must have a five year checkable work/address history and be able to clearly demonstrate there ability to work in the UK in line with UK borders and Immigration policy. Proof of qualifications will also be checked for all applicants.
