Working Wonders in Wolverhampton

The SkyBlue Solutions team in Wolverhampton is winning new business and new recruits hands down, so what’s the secret?

“Wolverhampton is a traditional work hard, play hard office with a great team spirit that makes working here enjoyable and exciting,” explains SkyBlue Branch Manager David Woakes.

“We’re all pulling in the same direction, pro-active and committed, very busy and very professional.

“Within the branch there are people who are great in sales, organisation and who ooze initiative – all the skills and capabilities that are fundamental to how we work as a team.”

The list of recent new business wins speaks for itself with contracts including installing new sign gantries for Balfour Beatty on the M6 and M42 and building river flood defences at Cheltenham with Jacksons Civil Engineering.

“We like to have a variety of work on our books,” adds David, “as it helps to keep our sector knowledge bang up to date.”

“We are always looking for ways to add to the skills we can offer and providing training where it is needed or wanted to both our office staff and associates. For example, everyone here at the Wolverhampton branch completes the REC fast track course to qualify them as recruitment professionals.

“At the moment we have people with, and training for CSCS cards, IOSH, NRSWA Streetworks tickets, Lantra 12a & 12b (Highways) and PTS (Rail) accreditation.

“I’m particularly proud of the way we’ve taken on the challenge of

the new Solutions business. We’re already making it work and we’re determined to build a strong successful organisation that is recognised within the industry.”
