“In that year alone we have helped hundreds of people into employment, providing an excellent service to candidates and companies alike,” says Area Manager, Phill Murphy.

A key factor in the success of the Cardiff branch and SkyBlue as a whole, which now ranks as one of the top 50 recruitment businesses in the UK, is its commitment to training.

“Last year we spent hundred of thousands in ensuring all our temporary workers were fully competent in their jobs.

"We also provided up-skilling opportunities, which have a positive knock on effect of enabling each of our candidates to diversify and develop their careers,” adds Phill.

“We make every effort to look after and retain our workforce and to add stability to their working lives.

“Using a career-orientated approach to finding on-going employment and providing essential training, means that our workers’ self-esteem and motivation is maintained, which ultimately keeps the clients happy.”

As part of the Carillion Group, SkyBlue is well placed to recruit for a wide variety of sectors including, Construction, Rail, Highways and Office Support.

The branch in Radyr, Cardiff have been the key supplier of contract labour for many important development projects in the area, including Edmund Nuttall ltd, Network Rail and Balfour Beatty.

One current major project is the former Steelworks at Ebbw Vale Regeneration project whereby SkyBlue has partnered with the Blaenau Gwent Local Authority; the contractor on site - Edmund-Nuttall ltd; Job Centre Plus and Remploy South Wales.

On this project SkyBlue has been keen to support the local community by offering them work on this important community regeneration scheme.

SkyBlue’s commitment to place the right person in the right job has continued throughout the company’s growth.

“Whether our customers are construction companies, contractors, local authorities or the highways agency, we always take time and effort to understand what their problems are not just from a competence view but also from a cultural fit,” says Phill.

“With two teams of recruitment consultants focusing on exclusively on temporary and permanent positions we can guarantee that our consultants have a comprehensive understanding of specialist recruitment, which means we are able to identify our client’s requirements and tailor a specific solution.”
