Agency Workers Regulations (AWR)
The clock is ticking...Are you ready?
Whilst many of you have no doubt heard of the proposed Agency Workers Directive (AWD), do you really understand the possible effect this proposal could have on your business and the recruitment sector?
The Agency Workers Regulations (AWR) ensure the protection of temporary agency workers by applying the "principles of equal treatment in terms basic working and employment conditions", as they would have been entitled to had they been directly recruited to the job. In the UK this is subject to the completion of a 12 week qualifying period of continuous work with the same hirer and in the same role.
October 2011 sees the implementation of the Agency Workers Regulations and SkyBlue is working with each of its clients to discuss any potential impact these regulations will have and to plan to ensure that the implementation of these regulations is effective and efficient.
As a member of APSCo, SkyBlue complies with strict industry regulations and fully compliant and up to date with the latest industry guidance.
