Award Winning Recruiter Backs Young Britain

‘Backing Young Britain’ is a cross-government campaign bringing together business, public sector organisations and the voluntary sector to provide more opportunities for young people.

“As the recession continues, young people are being affected by a lack of opportunities in the labour market,” says SkyBlue’s permanent recruitment manager, Paul Mudd.

“It is very important to get job seekers into work within their chosen industry as they can gain great skills and knowledge, which will help prepare them for a full time position in the future.

“The longer, young school leavers in particular remain unemployed, the more chance of them disappearing from the job market altogether. This would be detrimental to the success of the UK in the future.”

Participating organizations sign up to the official campaign website and pledge their support to and to advertise either apprenticeship, jobs or work experience.

Interested candidates simply log on and apply to those opportunities they are interested in and best suited to.

‘Backing Young Britain’ is one of many organisations SkyBlue has partnered with to promote equality and to offer opportunities to the disadvantaged.

“As a company we are only too happy to help to get young people into the workplace. At SkyBlue we recognise the importance to applaud people from all walks of life and not to discriminate on any basis,” adds Dave Massingham, SkyBlue’s diversity & equality manager.

“By ‘Backing Young Britain; SkyBlue and other businesses can limit the damage done to the prospects of young people; as a result of the current recession,” concludes Dave.
