Jobseekers across the South West to benefit from opening of new recruitment business
Thousands of jobseekers in Bath and the South West are set to get a helping hand from an award winning recruitment firm, which opened its doors in the very heart of the city recently.
Despite the current bleak jobscene, SkyBlue, now with an office in Ernest Ireland House, BA1 1XH, has maintained an average of 2000 workers in temporary assignments per week across the UK - mainly in construction, highways and commercial sectors.
Part of Carillion plc, the recruitment firm specialises in construction, facilities management, mechanical & electrical, highways and rail sectors, including trades, commercial and specialist professional/ technical roles.
Paul Clark, SkyBlue Senior Member for the South West, says: “We’re looking forward to a really promising year with the start of the new £430m PFI hospital at Southmead which will require a high volume of local people from the area both during Carillion’s construction period and the 30year period when Carillion will also be maintaining it.
“Besides, in the pipeline we have a number of projects due to start shortly, for which we’ll be looking to recruit skilled and unskilled local people.”
Sean Harrison, SkyBlue Area Manager for the South, adds:
“Although the tough economic climate is having an effect across the recruitment industry there are still sectors that are holding steady and we are fortunate that our corporate strategy sits within these sectors.
“We’ve got one of the best retention rates in the business and we offer a career orientated approach to work, something quite unusual particularly when looking at temporary and contract work.”
SkyBlue is the first recruitment business specialising in the construction sector to have the REC Diversity Audited status and has been recently awarded Best Construction Recruitment firm 2009 in prestigious Recruiter Awards.
